We had planned to hold exhibitions and consultation events on Scott Avenue open space and had invited all residents to come and see the plans and talk with us about their views. However, we had to postpone the events in line with Governance COVID-19 guidance. Instead, we have sent the draft plans to all residents in this newsletter which includes a survey from which we would welcome your feedback.

GCH are pleased to make clear that in response to the residents consultation in 2018, bungalows on Podsmead, both prefab and brick built, will not be included in the regeneration redevelopment proposals brought forward in the latest revised plans to be published later this year. Instead all GCH owned bungalows will be retained and improved as and when existing components need replacing at the end of their natural life e.g. new kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, roofs etc. as part of GCH’s Decent Homes improvements. We are pleased to see that private owners are continuing to improve their own bungalows where finances allow.
We are working hard to complete the revised plans for Podsmead based on the comments made by residents at previous consultation events, secure the remaining finance needed to fund them and in consultation with City Council planners, ensure that they are plans that can receive Council support.
We will then bring them back to the Podsmead community for you to have your final say. We hope to do that sometime this year subject to the Government lockdown being lifted to allow us to have safe face to face consultations with you at open meetings and where possible in your own home.
